Green Party welcome win by Sistema workers

The Green Party congratulate E tū Sistema members who have secured a collective agreement that will ensure a 16% pay increase and a commitment to always pay workers above minimum wage.

The Green Party congratulate E tū Sistema members who have secured a collective agreement that will ensure a 16% pay increase and a commitment to always pay workers above minimum wage.

“This is collective action at its best and shows how sticking together and standing up for your rights can mean a big win”, Green Party Co-leader Marama Davidson said today.

“We know people employed at Sistema work tirelessly long hours and deserved a pay increase. I have no doubt that the 16% increase to all members will go a long way.

“I urge all New Zealanders to join your union and stand up to your employer when you believe you are being treated or paid unfairly. This can be tough because of the power imbalance, which is why it is so important to work collectively”.
