Green Party supports Helen Clark’s bid for UNSG

The Green Party supports Helen Clark’s bid for Secretary General of the United Nations.

“Helen Clark would make a great Secretary General of the United Nations, and the organisation’s first ever woman leader,” said Green Party Co-leader Metiria Turei.

“The experience Helen Clark gained as Prime Minister for nine years and head of the United Nations Development Programme for seven years makes her an ideal candidate for Secretary General of the United Nations.

“It is time for a woman to lead the United Nations. Helen Clark has the experience and integrity to do the job.

“We wish her all the best in her endeavour,” said Mrs Turei.
